DESCRIPTION:This is a concert of Greek love stories — from the dramatic rescue of Andromeda by Perseus on his winged horse Pegasus to the story of Daphnis and Chloe\, who against all odds\, including pirates\, winter blizzards and kidnapping\, still are able to sustain their love. Sandwiched in between is Bernstein’s take on Plato’s philosophy of love itself\, written for violin and orchestra. Come for the love\, stay for the music.
