MEET THE ORCHESTRA

CHARLES LOH | violin

Charles Loh is a senior at Brown University, studying Music and Chemistry. He is currently co-concertmaster of the Brown University Orchestra, an active chamber musician, and Financial Director of Healing Through Harmony, an organization committed to sharing music at hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons. This past summer, he was a member of the Aspen Music Festival and School and studied with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster, David Halen. He currently studies with Katherine Winterstein, concertmaster of the Vermont Symphony.

In high school, Loh attended the Interlochen Arts Camp and played as assistant concertmaster of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra. He was also concertmaster of the Syracuse Youth Orchestra and principal second violin of the Empire State Youth Orchestra. In 9th grade, Loh won the Civic Morning Musicals’ Concerto Competition and performed the Bruch Violin Concerto with Symphoria. Previous teachers include Julianna Athayde, Hong-Guang Jia, Peter Rovit, and Thomas Rodgers.
