MEET THE ORCHESTRA

EMILIE TUPPER | violin

Emilie Tupper is a violinist currently residing in Rochester, NY. She recently graduated with a
Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied under Mikhail
Kopelman.
As an orchestral musician, she has performed in upstate New York and central Pennsylvania
with the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes and the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra in
her hometown of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. As a chamber musician, she has performed in
masterclasses for Peter Salaff, the Aizuri Quartet, the Calder Quartet, and the Horszowski Trio,
and has worked alongside the Ying Quartet, Mimi Hwang, Yoojin Jang, and Elinor Freer. In
2023, she received a Certificate of Achievement in Chamber Music Performance as a member
of the Kilbourn Quartet, as well as the Peter Salaff Award for Chamber Music Excellence.
During the summers, she has attended the Chautauqua Instrumental Program and the Bowdoin
International Music Program.
Emilie is particularly passionate about community engagement and increasing accessibility to
the arts. She has participated in a number of concerts at K-12 schools in the Rochester area,
including a collaborative concert with her quartet and music students from the Children’s School
of Rochester. She also teaches violin at ROCMusic, a tuition-free music program in Rochester.
When not playing violin, you can find Emilie working as a preschool teacher. She enjoys
reading, going to see movies, and exploring the many trails and hikes found throughout upstate
NY.
