MEET THE ORCHESTRA

LYDIA PARKINGTON | cello

Lydia received her undergraduate degree in Music Performance at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA under the tutelage of Juilliard Quartet’s Astrid Schween. She received her title of Master of Music in Cello at Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music. Locally, she has performed with Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music, Society for New Music, the WCNY radio station, and many of New York’s orchestras. She has performed as a soloist with the Cape Cod Symphony and has toured extensively throughout the United States at celebrated venues such as the Chicago Cultural Center and Bonnaroo Music Festival as a long time member of folk-pop band the Parkington Sisters. An avid lover and performer of new music, Lydia has recently taken on the role of director for the Weekend of Chamber Music music festival in the Catskills. Her favorite pastimes are reading and working with foster dogs.
