MEET THE ORCHESTRA

RENEE CHOI | violin

Renée Choi is a 2024 graduate of Brown University with degrees in Health and Human Biology as well as Music. Renée first found her love for orchestra with the New York Youth Symphony, which she led as Assistant Concertmaster during her final year with them. She also enjoys performing chamber music, and was honored to compete in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition as well as feature in NPR’s From The Top Radio Show in 2020. That year, she also was a National YoungArts Foundation Winner in Classical Music/Violin.

Currently, Renée continues to play in the Brown University Orchestra as co-concertmaster and performed Saint Saëns Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso alongside them in April 2024 as the BUO Concerto Competition winner. Although she plans on pursuing a career in medicine, Renée hopes to never lose her love for music and continue playing violin wherever she goes.
